The best photo locations in the 19th arrondissement

Carrying on in our series, today we are looking at our favourite photo locations in the 19th arrondissement. Paris is so full of beautiful nooks and crannies to take stunning pics, and the 19th is a great little corner of the city. Here’s how our friends at Google describe it (pretty well written so we thought we’d just copy and paste!): “The 19th arrondissement is a flagship for urban regeneration. Families enjoy the Canal de l’Ourcq with its waterfront promenade and bike lane that leads to Parc de la Villette. The park is home to museums such as the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie and concert venues. The manicured Parc des Buttes Chaumont has waterfalls and city views, while hip crowds hang out in cafes and check out edgy art at Cent Quatre”.

So here are our 3 favorite photo spots in the 19th:

1. Parc des Buttes Chaumont, constructed during the rule of Napoleon III, it’s the fifth largest park in Paris and was first opened to the public in 1867. It’s beautfully designed, with a bridge across a central lake area – highly recommended for an afternoon stroll and a photo or two!

I love this park so much that it is actually where I had my baby shower and then family photos after the babies were born! Here’s a couple of pics for you to enjoy!

2. Rue de Belleville, for a view of the Eiffel Tower. This is one of our favorite, little known spots for a great shot of the Iron Lady from afar! Right at the intersection of Rue de Belleville and Rue des Pyrénées (there’s a McDonalds there in the corner), you’ll see the road slope downwards with the Eiffel beautifully framed by the buildings on either side.

3. Butte Bergeyre. Set on a hillside, this small neighbourhood hideaway is the perfect place to escape to, and get a great shot of Sacré Cœur too! The area features a community garden and a single winding road up the hill, where you’ll walk over the cobbles and past vine-covered apartments.
