we've got you
Hey there! I'm Janelle, a Kiwi soaking up the good life in picturesque Provence, swapping the hustle of Paris for the charm of lavender fields and chilled rosé. Back in July 2017, my husband and I traded our Kiwi roots for the City of Love's magic. As a foster care social worker, I hit pause on my career, and guess what? A whole new adventure unfolded.
Paris, oh Paris! This city's beauty is just too hard to resist. Around every corner, there's something that'll make your heart skip a beat. It was here that my photography hobby turned into a full-blown passion. Fast forward to April 2020, and voila, My Paris Portraits was born! Through my lens, I've been lucky enough to help others fall head over heels for this incredible city.
After the birth of my twins in July 2022, my husband and I started dreaming of more space and embracing a slower pace of life for our growing family..Come 2023, we took the plunge, chasing sunsets, lavender, and lazy afternoons in Provence. If you're wandering through this gorgeous region, send us a message. I'd love to photograph you in this insanely beautiful corner of the world.
From a Filipino background, I was born and raised in Paris. I met my husband while I was living abroad for a few years and we decided to move back to Paris together. Coming back made me rediscover the city I grew up in and gain a new appreciation for all the cultural richness Paris has to offer! I like the arts, good coffee and books, but I also love to hike and enjoy nature (especially the ocean).
Growing up, I also followed along in my father’s passion for photography. This hobby has already given me the honor of capturing some of my friends' big life events and I love the way it helps us to relive beautiful memories
Moved to Paris for a job in 2019, and it was my first time travelling abroad. It was a faraway dream for me stepping in to this beautiful city and it’s one of my best life decisions ever. Started my photography career back in the Philippines as a hobbyist and now I’ve been shooting for more than 5 years, from local weddings, engagements, fashion, corporate and lifestyle-themed events.
My biggest dream as a photographer is to translate meaningful experiences into images, that will be remembered for a lifetime. And living in a place where you’re at the center of Europe, makes it easier to achieve, one step at a time.
I moved to Paris 7 years ago from New Zealand to work in theatre production and performance.
I'm a lover of cycling anywhere and everywhere in Paris, eating out at all the best new spots in my neighbourhood (one of my absolute favorites is martin boire et manger) and all things theatre!
Community management is something that I came to really enjoy as it has a lot of parallels to theatre: it’s all about story telling and connecting to a community of people! I've been behind the emails at MPP since August 2022.
I relocated to the City of Lights in 2023 to be with my girlfriend, bridging the gap of a year-long long-distance relationship. Previously, I called Berlin home, kickstarting my career as a fashion photographer with my first full-time job there. The move to Paris always felt like the perfect fit—a place where every nook and cranny could serve as a stunning backdrop for a memorable photoshoot!
With a background in both sociology and fine arts, my passion for working with people has been a constant thread in my journey. Before diving into the realm of fashion photography, my lens captured portraits of everyone from family and friends to strangers, a practice that continues to bring me immense joy. My experience in the fashion industry has also honed my ability to make anyone look their absolute best, irrespective of their comfort level behind the camera.
